MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES

PRE-PREG

It is the result of impregnating a group of fibres in an impregnation line previous to the piece moulding.

In our impregnation lines, pre-pregs are manufactured with different types of fibres and resins.

Type parts: Pre-impregnated glass fibre / carbon fibre.

HAND LAY-UP

Manual manufacturing process in an open mould, prepared for the operation with a pre-polishing and the application of mould-release agents.

The resin used is mixed with a hardener that enables the subsequent curing once applied to the reinforcement (pre-cut fibre layers), deposited in the mould.

Type of parts: Large pieces, boats, car body, etc.

RTM

Composites manufacturing process in closed mould. The reinforcement (pre-cut fibre layers) is placed on the two parts of the mould, which is closed mechanically.

A type of thermosetting low viscosity resin is injected inside the mould by the action of a pump. The piece cures thanks to a thermal cycle, applied to the mould.

Good surface finish on both sides of regular dimensions pieces, is achieved.

Type of parts: Wide variety of piece types.

RESIN INFUSION

First, the dry fibre is placed in an open mould. Subsequently, a vacuum bag is done around the perimeter. Through a vacuum process, a very low viscosity resin is injected until all the fibre is impregnated.

Type of parts: Small series of pieces of large and medium dimensions.

PULTRUSION

Process for continuous manufacture profiles, fibre and resin-based.

  • Both, reinforcement materials (fibres) and the polymer matrix (resin and additives), are selected according to the required technical properties.
  • The reinforcement is subjected to a continuous drawing process. It is impregnated with the resin deposited in a bath previous to the mould. This mould will give the piece geometry.
  • The mould temperature ensures polymerization (hardening) of the resin.
  • The profile obtained is a thermosetting piece.

Type of parts: Profiling (beams, railings …)
